After Super Mario Bros. boomed worldwide, the sequel was already being made. Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) was virtually similar to Super Mario Bros. with tricky twists and turns that Japanese gamers would love.
Again, King Koopa, the evil turtle/dinosaur hybrid, has terrorized the Mushroom Kingdom and taken it's Princess (Princess Toadstool) hostage. Mario must battle through eight worlds to find her and save her and the Mushroom Kingdom from this tyrant.
With
remarkable sales of SMB, Nintendo made their next in a
series of three Super Mario NES games. This one, which
was released in Japan, was at first glance similar, but
introduced new tricks such as Poison Mushrooms and
backwards warps.
