Mario hasn't come all this way by himself. He of course had to have had a supporting cast. Here they are.

| Luigi | Mario's overlooked twin brother, appears in games as the 2nd Player |
| Princess Toadstool | The damsel in distress, must be rescued in most cases |
| Toad | Official servant of the Mushroom Kingdom, often a helper along the way |
| Yoshi | Mario's fruit-loving dino pal, picked up from Dinosaur World in SMW |
| Bowser | The antagonist of the Mario series, this evil dino/turtle hybrid is always starting trouble |
| Wart | Veggie hating toad that appeared in SMB2 as the dream stealer of Sub-Con |
There are many other Mario characters, including enemies and other figures picked up along his nearly 20 year journey. We can't even begin to expect who he will meet in the future.
